Infants and toddlers learn through play by utilizing flash cards, books, numbers, shapes, colors, the alphabet, stacking blocks, puppets, age-appropriate toys, and more. Throughout the day, children practice using large and small motor skills by reaching, grasping, rolling, sitting, crawling, standing, walking, climbing, throwing, catching, kicking, cooing and talking. Daily infant circle time includes songs, beginning alphabet and number recognition and practicing sounds.
Your child will enjoy activities such as art and craft projects, games, songs, finger plays, storytelling, creative dramatics, exercises, science, shapes, numbers, colors, alphabet, and much more through various monthly themes. Daily lessons and circle time includes songs, reviewing days of the week, months of the year, the five senses, weather, and more. Children are assigned their own computer profile to play online puzzles, games, reading exercises, and matching exercises. Progress is tracked and they are moved up to next levels as appropriate. Daily lessons prepare children for pre-school program.
Blair Care Children’s Center, Inc. offers a structured pre-school curriculum developed by a professional organization who designs daily preschool curriculum lesson plans to be used in childcare centers. In addition to these daily lessons which are both entertaining and educational, your child will practice skills necessary for kindergarten such as learning to use scissors, sight word recognition, tracing and writing, reciting address/telephone number, and will continue daily computer activities at a pre-school level. We know that children learn best by “doing,” therefore the activities the children participate in are developmentally appropriate, hands-on, and fun. This curriculum is consistent with the National Association for the Education of Young Children Guidelines for curriculum content.
Our Before & aftercare program offers creative learning opportunities after school is dismissed. Students complete homework and participate in daily activities such as arts & crafts, cooking using written recipes, board game day, movie day, science experiments, scavenger hunts, karaoke, video game challenges, fashion shows and more.
